FXO Gateway/Dinstar

An FXO stands for Foreign Exchange Office, which helps in receiving POTS services from the PSTN. FXO is the plug on the phone and acts as an interface connected to the telecommunication network device. When a PBX is connected to the Telecommunication Central Office, the FXS lines from the phone company are plugged into FXO ports on the PBX to provide hook/off-hook indication.

FXO Gateway/Dinstar

An FXO adapter is used to connect VoIP systems like IP-PBX in a LAN environment to regular analog telephone lines (POTS PSTN lines). From the perspective of a telephone exchange, an FXO adapter behaves like a regular telephone. It accepts ring signals, goes on-hook and off-hook, sends and receives voice signals efficiently.
